Milan Hermess is a Berlin-based DJ and promoter who co-runs the ever evolving Mechatronica, Bay Area meets Berlin’s Anima Sola Records and is founder of Fan Fiction, a club night and DJ cafe in the Berlin Friedrichshain area.
Originally from the Netherlands, where Milan hosted techno parties in his hometown of Arnhem, he has been residing in Berlin since 2011. With over a decade of DJing experience, Milan is a true vinyl enthusiast and devotee to all that is music and nightlife.
Heavily influenced by the West Coast Sound of Holland and Berlin’s nightlife culture, his mixes cover a broad spectrum within alternative dance music. Eclectic, yet thoroughly selective, his sets are layered experiences bridging the gap between electro, deep techno, acid and breakbeat. He’s an expert at taking you from deep Waters to high-octane intensity; playful yet dramatic, hypnotic yet euphoric. Championing his dancefloor-led sound, he whirls through a vast array of moods and genres from the past & present, showcasing both technical skill and respect & admiration for the art of DJing and it’s rich history.
Years of DJing and working in the music industry lead him to host nights and perform at some of the world’s most renowned underground clubs like Berlin’s Griessmuehle & RSO, Renate, About Blank & OXI, Hamburg’s Golden Pudel, Athens’ Astron & Six Dogs, TES – Tbilisi, Channel Zero – Ljubljana, Bike Jesus – Prague & Exit – Glasgow and many more.
