JON RUNDELL

Talent, unwavering dedication and a hunger for new creative achievement have brought Jon Rundell long-term success. The Etch label founder has been releasing on pivotal labels, playing at iconic clubs and festivals worldwide, various panel appearances and a decade’s experience as a label manager and A&R with Intec. The London-based producer who is never afraid to speak his mind is a true ambassador of electronic music with a worldwide fan base, bringing his distinctive sets to international stages including Timewarp, Awakenings Festival, Ultra & Resistiance (Ibiza/Mexico/Miami), BPM, Glastonbury, Medusa, EDC, and Creamfields, and cult favourite venues such as Kristal Glam (RO), Fabric & Studio 338 (London), Contact (Tokyo), Crobar (Beunos Aries), Warung (Brazil), Space (Ibiza) and Output (New York).

Rundell’s DJ sets are fluid and fast-paced; he reads a room, and goes where his and the crowd’s mood suit with what feels right. Nevertheless, whether it’s uncompromising techno or the deeper end of house, there will always be his signature groove.

His impressive back catalogue includes two EPs on Octopus Black Label; the catchy ‘Jack The Bass’ which featured on Skream’s Fabric compilation last year; the stratospheric hit ‘Knick Knack’ (Held the No1 overall genre position for 8 weeks on Beatport); ‘Raven’ (the latter championed by the likes of Dave Clarke, Luke Slater and Ben Sims), and remixes including Moby’s ‘Walk With Me’ (Little Idiot), Josh Wink’s ‘Talking To You’ and Devilfish ‘ManAlive’ (Bush Records) which also went to No1 on the overall genre chart of Beatport for 3 months.

Forthcoming releases to look out for this year include Pure Intec 4 Mix Compilation along side Carl Cox, and Ep’s in collaboration with Carlo Lio forthcoming on Second State in December, and with Ten Ven and Carl Bee.

Rundell doesn’t follow trends, staying true to his own beliefs and interests on and off the dancefloor. As a prominent spokesperson in his various panel appearances at Amsterdam Dance Event, Brighton Music Conference and International Music Summit in Ibiza, he speaks his mind. He continues as a key player in the industry, constantly challenging himself and industry norms anew. Its through this desire to challenge himself that he has now taken up going deeper into learning mixing and mastering music in order to see how far he can push the boundaries within the dance music scene and creating something totally unique and fresh.
