Candy Cox is a pioneering figure in the global Classic Hard Techno and Techno scene, widely regarded for her relentless energy, genre-defying versatility, and +two-decade-long impact on underground electronic music.
Born in Curitiba, Brazil, Candy’s musical roots span Bossa Nova, Classical, Jazz, Funk, and Heavy Metal, but it was early 90s Electronic—Drum & Bass, House, Acid House, and Techno—that ultimately shaped her sonic path. By the early 2000s, she had immersed herself fully in DJ culture, becoming a staple of Brazil’s underground circuit with residencies at key venues such as Stereo Pub and São Paulo’s iconic club ALôca.
Known for her dynamic, high-intensity sets, Candy crafts intricate narratives on the dancefloor, weaving together vintage and contemporary sounds across Techno, Industrial, Acid, Hard Techno, and beyond. She rose rapidly to international acclaim, touring across South America and Europe with standout performances at major festivals and clubs including Awakenings, Dance Valley, Fabrik (Madrid), Florida135, Aquasella, and Djax it Up.
Since relocating to Barcelona in 2012, she has curated and promoted the “Loud” and “Get Loud” event series across Spain, known for their cutting-edge lineups and raw, uncompromising sound.
In the studio, Candy’s productions reflect the same fearless spirit—textural, driving, and uncompromising. Her releases span key labels such as Hydraulix Records (UK), Industrial Strength (US), Concrete Berlin (DE), and under her No.Dolls alias (duo with Daniela Haverbeck), Cause Records and Mental Torments. Her sound is marked by rugged tonal layers and textures, heavy low-end architecture, and gritty, rhythmic precision—often blending distorted industrialism with hypnotic groove.
In 2023, she launched Robota Records, a label and events showcase platform aimed at bridging old-school Techno values with modern experimentation.
