Brunetto is a musician, DJ, storyteller and music journalist from Seville, now based in Barcelona. His career is built on restless curiosity, moving through decades, raised on a diet of vinyl, cassettes, groove boxes and music genres. From 80s funk-rap and trip hop to UK big beat, hardhop, IDM, techno, jungle and future bass, his is eclectic, a shape-shifting sound that balances electronic freedom with pulse and presence.
In the studio, his four solo albums include Sheroine (Irregular, 2014), praised as one of that year’s standout indie-electronic releases. Other standout releases include the LP B+, the Formas EP, and Humanity, a collaboration with Bearoid.
Ooparts is the title of Brunetto’s latest mini-album for Beautiful Accident. In his own words: “I’m bringing together songs I’ve written over the past five years, all connected by a cinematic atmosphere, shifting rhythms, and a constant sense of digging and unearthing ideas… It blends synth atmospheres, free-flowing electronica, a multiverse within the art of sampling, and flashes of abstract, borderless hip-hop, downbeats, and ragga-dub.”
His work spans film scores, documentaries, commercials, interactive projects, and remixes for artists such as The Suicide of Western Culture, Pulshar, Heitt, AFFKT, Omega dB, Killin’s Ürcos, Ioan Gamboa, Daniel Van Lion or Anika Sade. Before all that, he fronted Bockors, a late-90s band that opened for The Prodigy, Lunatic Calm and The Chemical Brothers. A shape-shifter between dancefloor power and experimental detail, Brunetto stands among influences like Boards of Canada, UNKLE, Dabrye, Yppah, Orbital, Badalamenti and Leftfield —an old dog still discovering new tricks, new languages!
On stage, Brunetto is as comfortable igniting a packed dancefloor -or not so danceable, but experimental and alternative- as he is exploring subtle beats, textures and atmospheres. He’s played festivals like Sónar, Observatori, LiveSoundtracks / Movistar, MP7-CCCB, Territorios Digitales, MOVE, Baumann, Piknic Electronic or Mutek (Barcelona); and soundtracked major events for global brands (X-Games, Nokia Totally Board, Red Bull / Last Lap).
Eclectic by nature, Brunetto moves where electronic beats meet emotion and experimentation.
